Neck arthritis
treatment
Neck arthritis is
cervical spondylosis. The neck can be affected by
arthritis because there are joints in the neck. A lot of
people have neck arthritis but they just didn’t realize
it thinking that it’s just a “crick” in the neck. It
would be advisable to see a doctor if you feel that there
is some swelling in the neck area and if there is
persistent pain symptoms. Early diagnosis would be good
so that the patient could have neck arthritis
treatment as early as possible. Common signs of
cervical spondylosis are shoulder pains, neck pains and
even persistent headaches. Another symptom would be pain
coming from the neck that would spread through the
shoulders and arms. Recognizing these typical symptoms
early is very crucial in the treatment
process.
Neck
arthritis treatment
Common neck
arthritis treatment includes seeing a physical
therapist so that you will be provided with exercises
that would target the neck area afflicted with arthritis.
Wearing of neck collars and neck braces are popular but
its efficacy is said to be very low because some would
argue that there would be no relief from the symptoms
using this technique because the restricting the movement
of the neck would not alleviate the pain nor would it
reduce the inflammation. But there are also others who
said that although the neck braces and neck collars would
not be able to reduce the swelling and the pain, it would
help by not aggravating the swollen joints so that the
condition will not become
severe.
Taking of pain
killers and other medications are also included in the
neck arthritis treatment. There would
also be a need to have a healthy diet that is filled with
vegetables in every meal. Avoidance of carbonated drinks,
alcohol like beer and liquor, high fat contents
especially saturated fat and trans fat and the
regulated intake of salt and sugar. Patients with neck
arthritis are also recommended to have vitamin
supplements.

Aside from these
common treatments there are also other treatments like
the use of herbs to manage the symptoms because unlike
the medicated drugs or prescribed drugs, herbal medicines
have no side effects even when used over a long time.
Homeopathic remedies could also help to alleviate the
symptoms that an arthritic patient is suffering
from.
There is also what
is called as the cold laser therapy which can also be
used for neck arthritis treatment. Cold
laser have light emitting diodes and infrared diodes.
Cold lasers works by sending out a short wavelength of
around 650 nanometers. It would also have a very low
intensity which is said to be between 5 milliwatts to 500
milliwatts. Its healing properties are compared to that
of the sun which can help in repairing cell and tissue
damage cause by arthritis. The efficacy of this treatment
is still currently being debated but in general there is
no harmful effect from it when applied as a treatment for
people with arthritis. This treatment are not for
patients who are pregnant, have undergone transplants and
to those who have recently just had steroidal injection
within a 24 hour time
frame.
