Arthritis
remedies
Arthritis
is a medical condition where there is an inflammation of the
joints. Up to this time there is no known cure for it yet but
there are medications to relieve the symptoms and manage the
pain. Because of the inflammation of the joints most people
afflicted with this disease would have a hard time walking if
the joints affected are located in the legs and if it has
affected the joints in their hands then they would be having
trouble with their daily activities that would involve the use
of their hands.
Arthritis
remedies
There are
many different types of arthritis remedies, these are either
natural remedies or with use of medicines. Painkillers and
anti-inflammatory drugs are often given to patients so that the
pain will be manageable. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs (NSAIDs) can help relieve the pain and reduce the
swelling but with continued use over a long period of time
could have some adverse side effects like experiencing some
stomach pains and problems. Steroids could also help with the
pain and the inflammation but normally steroids would make the
patient gain weight.
Natural
arthritis remedies are gaining popularity
because there are no known side effects for this type of
remedy. Hot and cold compress is recommended to alleviate pain
and to reduce a bit of inflammation. A lot of people would
find relief with some herbs to lower the pain they feel like
having ginger in most of their meals and eating lots of fruits
and vegetables. It is said that juicing fresh vegetables would
also help them. Most of the fresh fruits and vegetables have
anti-oxidants, flavonoids and other elements that help in
reducing the swelling of the joints and helps repair the damage
cells. It would be recommended to maintain your weight to a
minimum if you have arthritis so that there will be no
additional pressure to the joints in supporting your weight, so
a good and proper diet should be done. And if you are a bit on
the heavy side, losing weight would not only be good for your
overall health but for your joints as well since it wouldn’t be
too pressured in supporting your excess weight. Omega 3 should
be taken in minimal amounts to alleviate the swelling but
remember that too much of omega 3 in your diet could cause some
bleeding problems if you have arthritis.

Doing
regular light exercises and swimming is considered as one of
the best arthritis remedies because swimming
and some types of exercise would ensure that your bones and
joint would remain elastic and flexible. 30 minutes of swimming
would already be equal to a couple of hours doing other
exercises and swimming in the sea would be of great benefit to
arthritis patients because of the minerals contained in the sea
water that reduces the acidity of the body. Having a massage
regularly specially in the afflicted areas would reduce the
tissue and joints tension. Natural remedies are very effective
but it’s not a substitute for medical treatment. Medical
doctors should always be
consulted.
